just finish reading the book 'The Devil Wears Prada' by Lauren Weisberger.. it says there, currently the biggest blockbuster at cinemas.. but its not on screen yet.. anyway, the book is quite boring at the beginning, until i reach the last few chapters when things begin to twist a little. a little unexpected. anyway, i really couldnt imagine working for miranda priestly, the chief editor for runway magazine would be a job that 'million girls would die for'. its too exagerated i think. and i cant imagine there are bosses like miranda out there. i dont think i can tolerate this kind of attitude from a boss, regardless of how much pay im getting. totally senseless, treating an assistant like a slave, like a dog i would day.

just got back from a conference on Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism and Islamic. talking on the similarities and differences between both religion. and woh! just so amazed to see Malays speaking in mandarin. hehe. anyway, i didnt enjoy much on the conference. reason is that i only understand 10 or 20% of what they are talking about. sigh, my mandarin sucks. =( didnt want to attend at first, but since my mum wanted very much to go, and no one is free to accompany her, so let her filial daughter to accompany her ba! =p the most interesting part was during the Q&A question, one uncle asked a question touching on the issue polygamy. since islamic says all about equal rights and so on. why is that polygamy is allowed for the muslims? and the speaker answer confidently, pointing out on a few points. i can only remember one. polygamy is only allowed under a few circumstances. one of it is when a wife couldnt give birth, so the hubby is allowed to get a 2nd wife. he touched on a few more reasons, but i just cant seem to understand. sigh, my mandarin sucks again. another highlight of the night was that last minute, the venue was changed from 11th floor (normally for conference) to 4th floor (the performance hall). that was due to the overwhelming response from members, a lot were present and so the conference couldnt fit in so many, and we moved down. sh was the mc for tonight, makes me reminisce the time when we were mc-ing together for prof yamamoto's concert few months ago. i must say his mandarin is really good. very nice mandarin accent he has. salute!
