Grace.C: Starlight Cinema Short Film Festival 2006

the long-awaited day has finally ended...all of us reach and met up at sentul park as early as 6.45pm.. the real thing start at 8 something.. we didnt brought any mat or picnic cloth, instead we used my yoga mat and some windshield plus some newspaper hehe! anyway the first 2 hours was the catching-up session with my friends. we didnt see each other for about a month. some of them went to taiwan, one to melbourne. some back to johor. some started working already and one rotting for the last one month like me.. ~yippie and i got a vip pass to sit at the vip area, where all the judges are seated.. sadly, the passes are only meant for directors and producers.. but we didnt sit at the vip place, we wanted to join the whole bunch. =)finally the whole thing started, one by one they showed the films and then it came to ours! we were all extremely anxious, worried and excited at the same time. we were afraid that no one will laugh (apparently its a comedy), we were afraid that the people there will boo us, afraid that they will thought its too lame, all sort of worries we have. but surprisingly at some parts, we heard the some laughters from the audience! we were more excited then ! when it ended, we started the sms-war plan. smsing everyone we know to vote for us. hehe i dont know how much i spent, each sms cost 50cents. in fact i felt really guilty as some of my friend send tonnes of sms to vote for us.. 30, 40 and 50, really cant think of anything to say except for a big THANK YOU!! finally we came to the climax of the night, the results are out, the plaque are all there, all finalist were surrounding the mc waiting for the result. the mc started by listing all 5 finalist first, and i thought this is where we belong. but slowly, one, two, three, four, our name is still not called yet, anf fifth, still not ours !! i grab yippie by the hand, shaking really hard, i told her we're not in the last 5 list, she is still blur, and i shouted to her 'WE ARE IN THE TOP 3 LIST'!!! when she read what i said, both of us shouted loud! and patiently, heart beating waited for the mc to continue with the 2nd runner up, 'virtually split'.. still not ours !!!! heart beating faster this time, cant seem to breath, and finally the mc announced 'and the 1st runner up goes to.............. NOT A COINCIDENCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOO HOO !! and there both of us go, walking up to receive our plaque!!!! after that, was another new experience for me. all the finalist were to stand in front to snap photos. that was when both of us holding the plaque, smilling for a full minute smiling in front of so many cameras. non-stop flashes right toward us.. the feeling is like getting an oscar award... !! after i requested the mc to ask all kdu students to gather around to snap photos, thereafter, took lots of photos, with mr khong and nizam (our beloved lecturer) and finally with my group of biatches ji mui !!!!!!!!!!!!! i love you girls !!!!
