i had a very new experience today. im officially working at saint cinnamon cafe now. wee...! =) today was my first thing, everything that i learnt today is extremely new to me. from getting to know all the names of the cakes, scrolls, cookies, smoothies, and espressos to memorising all the prices. some would have sub prices for different size, for example a cup of small latte is $2.5o, regular for $2.90 and large for #.30. plus, its different for different type of espressos. now, me being an idiot in coffee (i dont drink coffee at all), i never know whats the differences between a latte, or cuppuchino, or mocha, machiato etc, to me, all of those are just coffee! haha, but anyhow, i learn it today and i realise that preparing a cup of nice hot cuppochino is not easy at all ! the tricky part is dealing with milk, latte milk or cuppochino milk? or is it for flat white? each of these espressos requires different technique to prepare the coffee. there are so much more to learn, i've only grasps the basic of everything today. i hope i can master everything soon.
another interesting part about working there is my collegue. hm.. is collegue the right way to use? anyhow, there are two of them today, both are from south korea. they've been really helpful today. knowing that im a new comer, they would offer help to teach me things that i need to know, supposingly manager was suppose to, but he was late. haha. and the manager himself, he's a man with humour! never let his serious face trick you! haha! he would always tease su and i, i mean, even on my first day of working, he was saying "hey dont open you mouth so big, later the fly will go into your mouth". hahaha... the night before, i kept thinking about how would the people treat me, how things would be, are they friendly or not, im really new and have no experience at all, how would my performance be? so much of worries in my head. but now i dont have to worry about social problem, i'll just try to improve myself so that i serve better.
