the other day i called my grandparents to send my regards, i was asked by my grandma to call aunty peggy, some far far away relative of mine. well, let's see if im able to trace the connection. i'll make it a long one, so aunty peggy is actually my mum's husband's mum's 3rd sister's daughter. so basically she is my grandma's niece. =p but still, to me this aunty peggy is someone whom i didnt see for many many years already, i dont even remember how does she look like. by the way, my grandma has this really big family on her side, heaps of yee-ma-gu-che and they are all well-to-do family that resides in seremban. my grandma's hometown. i remember when i was still little, i used to follow my family and bai nin at these yee-ma-gu-che's house during cny, i always got confuse over, which aunty is who, which is whom and i sometimes end up calling the wrong title for the wrong aunty or uncle. well, i guess you chinese know what i meant, especially when your family is still keeps the conventional ways of addressing a relative, like yee-poh (my grandma's 2nd sister)), or kau-gong (my grandma's brother) etc and it gets more confusing when im adressing these people's daughter or grandchildrens. i remember i attended many of my grandma's side, yee-ma-gu-che's dinner, be it wedding dinner or birthday dinner (tai -sau), and i have no idea who's getting married or whose birthday celebration im attending. this happen because they they are so wealthy, they would send out heaps of invitations, and usually 7 landed with my grandma, invitations to invite my grandma and all her sons (6 of them) and their immediate family.
SO, back to aunty peggy, her whole family migrated to Aus few years ago, thery are not citizens of Australia. my grandma asked me to called her, just to say hi. i hesitated initially, but then i thought, yea why not? maybe she has got some cute single sons around my age! lol ~~!!! anyway, that's not it, i knew that she has got 3 daughters only. well, i called her half an hour ago, she seems like, she's been expecting my call (guess my grandma told her that i'll be calling. so i said hi and all that greetings stuff, how are you, good good, yea yea, where you studying/staying yada yada yada. after that i didnt know what else to say, because honestly im not going to invite her to my house for dinner, that would sound really odd. haha. anyway, then she said she'd call me back one day, and plan for a dinner or something at her house, and we can catch up together. (yea, that's what i thought) she told me her daughter is also studying in rmit, last two sems to go before graduating, and yea, i told her that probably i can meet up with her daughter sometimes if she have time when she goes to uni. my grandma told me that their family is very perfect, pretty daughters, exellent results daughters, and aunty peggy herself is a very well-educated woman, she was once my uncle's class teacher in school, and that my grandma said "if you have any problems, or anything you dont understand you can ask her, she is very helpful and definitely can help you, explain things to you and so on". and i thought, wow ! I'm need of more cash now ! hahahaha !!
monday's wmt lecture was interesting ! my lecturer invited a guest speaker to conduct the lecture and at the last 30 mins, he demonstrated the way to shot a single shot film. he brought all his equipments, video camera, lighting (one of those spotlights used for modeling) and lots of wires. lol! and then he showed us how to establish a scene, the way to move a camera, what position is the best, techniques to get good angles etc etc. he even showed us the floorplan, drew it out on spot and projected it on screen. and that brings my mind back to KDU, and i start comparing (i know its bad to compare but i just couldnt help it). so now i know where all the money goes.
remember i mention the twins in sokahan? last saturday we had our study meet at kaikan, in the morning i walked passed one of them and i said hi, how are you, and then i left. i didnt know who it was, albert or alvin. so then the jacarandas and sokahan went separate ways to have their study meeting. and after the meeting, i bump in to him again, and this time he was saying hi, and asking me again how are you. i felt weird for a moment, thinking about why is he asking how are you again? it was just 2 hours ago that we exchange that greeting. and then, i notice that he has got a mole ! haha!that mole brought me into realisation that it must have been the other twin that i met earlier in the morning. believe me, they really look alike like biscuit-stamps.
I'm off now to Mirai Kozaru chanting meet ! =)
